All you need to to do is be yourselves, and I will create a series of images that capture you at this moment in time.
Fix a date and plan an outing – we’ll go for a walk or hang out at home, and I’ll take photographs that you will treasure for ever. I will document your time together, creating beautiful everyday images of you as a family at play – the children bouncing on the bed or putting their shoes on as we head out the door. As we walk, I’ll be on the lookout for great backdrops for stunning classic photographs that really stand the test of time.
I work with natural light indoors and outdoors, and try not to direct you too much. So, don’t ask your children to smile, or listen to the lady. Let me take charge, and they will feel like the stars of the show. The same goes for teenagers. As you know less fuss is key here and they often prefer to be left alone by their parents for a few moments now and then.
Baby photography, on the other hand sometimes requires a little more patience. From that magical first fortnight when we can capture the exquisite newness of your tiny person, to a giggling, delightful growing baby, we may need more time. Bear with me, we’ll follow your baby’s lead and make sure she doesn’t get bored.
It’s very important to me that these photographs don’t end up gathering dust on hard drives, so when I deliver the digitals to you, I will advise you on how and where to get them printed.
Of course, I offer printing too. I use only the best giclée prints on hahnemühle paper, mounted with archival card and framed in hand made wooden frames. I can also help you to choose the best photos presented in a style that suits your home.
I will often photograph with a photobook in mind, capturing the little details – conkers found on a walk, along with more classic close ups of the children’s gleeful faces so that they all fit together in a beautiful book of the day.
What better reward is there than knowing these photographs will grace the walls of your homes for years to come?
They say Dutch families are the happiest in the world, and I think they might be right. At least I was pretty convinced when I visited the lovely home of Esther Van De Paal, founder of babyccinokids Their home was as cheerful and welcoming as the four children who sweetly tripped down the stairs to greet me – wooden toys spilled out of baskets, and children’s artwork adorned the walls. I encouraged them to stay at home for a while, the littlest balancing on the window sill, allowing me to capture their easy smiles as they played.
